Regis Aged Care, a subsidiary of Regis Healthcare (“Regis”) is pleased to announce it has acquired St Martins Aged Care Facility in Adelaide, from the City of West Torrens.

Regis will assume ownership of the 115 place aged care facility, subject to the approval of the Department of Social Services, on 1 July 2015.

The City of West Torrens Chief Executive Officer Terry Buss said a key consideration in the City of West Torrens agreement with Regis Aged Care was to ensure that conditions for residents and staff would remain comparable under new ownership.

“The well-being of our residents and the quality of care they receive are paramount. Our residents have entrusted their care to us, and we take this responsibility very seriously,” Mr Buss said.

“We also recognise and value the tremendous work of our staff, and the essential role they play in maintaining the well-being of our residents.

“All existing staff will be offered equivalent positions and retain equivalent conditions with Regis Aged Care, meaning residents will continue to be cared for by the people they know and trust.

“Importantly, there will be no change to the financial contribution for existing residents.”

Regis has operated in Australia for over 20 years and has 47 facilities throughout the country.

“We are very excited to be adding St Martins Aged Care Facility to our family of aged care homes across Australia and to be extending the Regis family,” Regis CEO and Managing Director Ross Johnston said.

“We are proud of our achievements and the addition of St Martins Aged Care Facility will complement and expand our high standards of care.”

St Martins Aged Care Facility will be the fourth Regis facility in Adelaide. Regis has over 5,000 operational places and employs in excess of 5,500 staff in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
