I joined Regis in December 2014 as an Assistant in Nursing at Regis Sippy Downs. Currently I’m on secondment as an Admissions Coordinator for our Sunshine Coast Homes – Regis Kuluin, Maroochydore and Sippy Downs.
Working in aged care has changed my life for the better. The residents have taught me things about life that I could never have imagined. Caring for people is incredibly rewarding and I like to think we make a huge difference in people’s lives every day in the way we treat them.
Spending time with the residents, and having a laugh with them is something I treasure. Our focus is on resident welfare and it is at the center of everything we do to make their daily life better.
I handle admission enquiries, bookings and do tours of the Home. I love meeting new families and hearing their stories as I walk them through the process.
Considering other people, respecting them and being generous towards them by the way we behave.
Most mornings before work I either run, walk or go to the gym – it makes me feel good and prepared for the day. Not only this, but spending time with my family as much as possible!
I love working with my teams and seeing everyone support each other on a daily basis. I’ve had managers and mentors over the years at Regis that have inspired me and given me a chance to work in new roles and supported me wholeheartedly. I love helping families in what can be a stressful time when a family member suddenly needs aged care; I’m passionate about making the process easier for families and residents, and being gentle and approachable with them throughout the process.
