Regis Sippy Downs recently hosted its inaugural ball, an event that brought together residents, their families and employees in a celebration filled with music, dance and memorable moments.
General Manager Delano McCready shared that the idea behind the ball was simple yet profound: “We wanted to create an opportunity for families to make special memories with their loved ones and allow everyone to dress up and enjoy some dancing.”
The evening kicked off with residents making a glamorous entrance on a red carpet, accompanied by the strings of a cellist and a violinist, talented locals from the Sunshine Coast. Once everyone was gathered, the atmosphere shifted to a livelier beat with Roger, a singer and guitarist, who brought the 50s and 60s back to life.
The ball was not just about dancing and music—it was about making every resident feel special. Team members took extra steps, like assisting with makeup and even purchasing dresses to ensure that residents looked and felt their best.
“The highlight for me was seeing how proud all the residents looked when they walked down the red carpet,” McCready noted. “Seeing residents dancing with their family members and our team was truly heartwarming.”
The feedback from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Fay Friske, a resident, exclaimed, “It was the best night I have experienced in so many years. I felt so special and cared for.” Shirley, added, “Everything was perfect, from the beautiful decorations to the effort put in by everyone.”
Encouraged by the positive feedback, McCready confirmed plans to make the ball an annual event and is also considering similar events in the future. “Heart-warming moments like these remind us why we do what we do—it’s all about enriching lives and creating opportunities for others to experience pure joy and belonging,” he reflected.
The ball at Regis Sippy Downs not only celebrated the communal spirit but also set a precedent for future gatherings that celebrate life, joy and the enduring bonds of community.
