Residents at Regis Birkdale were in for a sweet treat and entered a ‘world of pure imagination’ this World Chocolate Day.

The Lifestyle team dressed up and organised a unique experience for residents inspired by the Roald Dahl classic, Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

The Home was adorned with Wonka bars, and golden tickets and the team dressed as oompa loompas for the special occasion.

Sweet treats were delivered around the Home by team members with a chocolate trolley, which included marshmallows, swirl lollies and Wonka bars specially made by the team.

Residents also enjoyed a viewing of the classic film in the Home’s cinema and loved singing along to well-known tunes.

Resident, Christine said: “I had a wonderful day. It brought back a lot of happy memories when I was younger and would save my money to get a chocolate bar like the children did in the film!”.

Stephanie, Club Services Manager at Regis Birkdale, said: “We had an amazing time creating our very own Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspired day of fun – our Willy Wonka experience was a definite hit.

“It was very much a team effort, from residents who helped make the lovely decorations and decorate the trolley, and to the team who dressed up as oompa loompas!”
