Thanks to the efforts of one creative resident, the front entrance at Regis Sippy Downs has a new artwork on display.

Kevin McAlpine has been a resident at Regis Sippy Downs since June 2012. Kevin is an art lover whose favourite activity is to paint. One only needs to walk past Kevin’s room, which is adorned with beautiful artworks, to understand his deep passion for the form.

This new artwork, which took Kevin seven days to complete, is the perfect addition to the main corridor of the Home, which ensures every visitor can see it when they enter, emphasising that this really is a home for our residents.

The team at Regis Sippy Downs have even gone that extra mile in celebrating Kevin’s artwork by having personalised placemats made of the painting which have been added to the dining room table in the café, much to the delight of residents and employees alike.

As a special show of thanks, Regis’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Linda Mellors visited the Home to present Kevin with his very own placemat. Kevin reciprocated and gifted Linda a placemat for herself.

“It is very special to see my artworks displayed around the Home and even more special that this one has been turned into a personalised placemat. It has brought me much joy and encouraged me to complete more pieces,” Kevin said.

Regis Sippy Downs General Manager, Delano McCready said, “Kevin is very loved by all the employees and residents at the Home. The piece of artwork has given him the opportunity to add a very sentimental piece to the Home which is very special.”

At Regis, we believe in encouraging our residents to pursue their passions and take every effort to celebrate and spotlight their achievements.
