Alec Roe began his career in 2012 as a 19-year-old Lifestyle Assistant at Regis Dandenong North and hasn’t looked back since. Over the years, he has had the pleasure of caring for many residents and working alongside colleagues who make his work truly fulfilling.

In 2023, Alec progressed his skills and transitioned into a Personal Care Assistant, a decision he refers to as the best of his career.

“Assisting residents with their Activities of Daily Living and helping them feel their best brings me immense joy,” he said.

“Knowing that I can bring comfort and happiness to someone’s day is incredibly rewarding.”

Personal growth and success

Alec started off as a shy high school graduate, and has persevered into qualified, compassionate team member who always puts the residents at the centre of everything he does.

“Over the years, I have grown both personally and professionally thanks to the supportive environment at Regis. I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to sharpen my skills.”

“I feel like I’m part of a big family and look forward to many more years of service. I aim to reach at least 20 years with Regis and I don’t intend on stopping there,” he said.

Memorable moments of care

Alec commends the camaraderie between residents and employees, laughter and the shared moments to his decade-long tenure. It is these key components that allow him to continue to foster strong relationships and care for residents.
