Federal Member for Moreton, MP Graham Perrett, attended the pre opening celebration of the state of the art aged care facility Regis Chelmer on 22 November 2017.
Mr Perrett was joined by Regis Aged Care General Managers Michelle Baker and Michael Horwood, industry providers, placement agencies, local dignitaries, and staff.
Regis acquired the Chelmer site from the Salvation Army in November 2014 and undertook the faithful restoration and extension of the 1890s Pontresina House to create a 120 place modern Regis 5 star aged care facility.

The Salvation Army purchased the property in 1920 and established an “Industrial School” charitable institution for neglected children in the house in 1923. The land around the house was later developed by the Salvation Army as ‘Warrina Village’, an aged care facility before being acquired by Regis.
The architects and design team have worked very hard with the local community to create a building that represents Queensland design and is complimentary to the surrounding suburb. Regis designs its facilities to a high standard taking into account our residents care needs, creating facilities with interiors specific to care types.
