Meet Melissa, a valued member of the Regis care team who’s been part of the Mildura family since 2001. Throughout the years, she has held various roles such as an Allied Health Assistant and Duty Manager. Currently, she is a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) at Regis Sunraysia in Mildura and helps create a community of care. For Melissa, care connects us all.

Melissa’s passion for working in the aged care sector is rooted in her desire to make a positive difference in the lives of the elderly. As a PCA, she is responsible for assisting residents with daily activities such as showering, getting them ready for the day, and helping them maintain their independence. She also lends a hand with mealtimes and offers unwavering support to residents. She truly embodies the Regis spirit, always ready to lend a listening ear and make a positive impact on the lives of those she cares for.

“What I love most about my role is the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of my residents,” says Melissa.

“I relish seeing them smile and listening to their stories, knowing that I have made a positive impact on their lives. We’re all here for the same reason, and that’s to care.”

Working in the aged care sector can be challenging, but Melissa advises that it is a truly rewarding career. She emphasises that “to succeed in this field, one needs to be caring, empathetic, and compassionate.”

“My team here in Mildura are kind, caring, and always willing to make a difference,” expresses Melissa.
