Rosa Vocale has been volunteering at Regis Fawkner since her mother became a resident. To Rosa, it was imperative that she remained close and connected to her mother during her transition into aged care, making her volunteering work feel effortless and full of joy.
One doesn’t need to see Rosa to know that she’s close by. Her passion for food and cooking means that trails of delicious aromas fill the hallways of Regis Fawkner when one of her mightily popular ‘Cooking with Rosa’ classes is in session. These classes are a highlight for residents and employees alike who adore the tasty treats that Rosa prepares.
Rosa is valuable in ensuring that the strong Italian community at Regis Fawkner are at ease and continue to enjoy many of their favourite cultural activities. Rosa’s Italian heritage means she often organises Italian music and bands for residents who sing along to their favourite tunes together.
The team at Regis Fawkner cannot express their gratitude enough, saying that she offers support and understanding to all residents in the Home and assists in any way that she can. Rosa is positive, optimistic and enthusiastic, qualities which rub onto anyone that she encounters.
