Holi, known as the festival of colour, is a major Hindu festival that is celebrated in many states in India, Nepal and other countries across South Asia. It marks the beginning of spring and symbolises the triumph of good over evil.

Holi is an important event for many of our employees and some of our residents and clients at Regis. One such way that the festival is recognised is through events in the Homes where employees and residents come together to share a meal and spread some cheer.

At Regis Holland Park, the day began with delicious Indian sweets and savoury treats followed by a short documentary about the significance of Holi and a vibrant Indian dance performance.

Regis Holland Park resident, Greta, said “This is amazing! I love how cultural diversity is celebrated here.”

Residents and employees at Regis Birkdale also enjoyed an afternoon of cultural delicacies with a chicken curry cooking experience.

Chris, who is a resident at Regis Birkdale and was joined by his family in the cooking experience, said, “It was a wonderful experience, the curry tasted so good! And the whole place smells aromatic.”

At Regis Sandgate Musgrave, employees brought in their favourite cultural treats to share with their colleagues and residents.

Resident at Regis Sandgate Musgrave, Geoff, said. “I love cultural events like this as I can experience it with the employees. They are all incredible.”

At Regis, we value the importance of celebrating cultural diversity and strengthening community bonds. Events such as Holi help residents feel connected and part of a larger community.
