Meet Gustavo Giudice – General Manager at Regis Burnside and proud member of the local community. Gustavo has been part of the Regis family since 2015 and has worked across multiple states and in various Homes.
Working within aged care wasn’t always on Gustavo’s agenda, however once the opportunity was presented to him, he accepted eagerly. Since that day, Gustavo hasn’t looked back and loves what each day brings. He shared with us that one of the reasons that attracted him to work in the sector was “the opportunity to support residents and make a daily difference to their lives so that they can receive the best possible care.”
As a General Manager, Gustavo’s role is extremely diverse with each day offering a new challenge and opportunity to grow. An average morning starts by meeting with Burnside’s frontline team then doing the rounds throughout the Home to greet the residents, relatives and his colleagues. Gustavo works closely with all departments and employees to ensure the Home runs smoothly and quality care is provided to each and every resident. One of the things he enjoys most is taking the time to build relationships with residents and learning about what’s important to them. “I honestly love the interaction with our residents. Getting to know them, their history and the amazing lives they have lived,” he said.
Passionate about the high-quality care and services at Regis Burnside, Gustavo also enjoys helping people and their families access the support they need, including short-term stays and permanent care. With a dedicated Memory support wing, a personalised lifestyle program, freshly-prepared meals, and a warm and welcoming social community, Regis Burnside takes a holistic approach to caring for residents’ wellbeing.
Outside of work, Gustavo is a very active person and is a self-proclaimed lover of sport. A proud member of his local community, he truly knows what it means to feel at home surrounded by the people and things that bring joy. “Home is a place where you feel safe, relaxed, and connected with friends and family. This is always front of mind for us at Regis Burnside, as we seek to create and maintain an environment where residents feel comfortable, happy, engaged, and connected with others” he said.
