At Regis, we believe in setting our employees up for success by providing opportunities for career progression and professional development.
Janneke’s journey showcases the impact of mentorship, development and purpose in aged care.
Janneke’s career at Regis began in December 2019, shortly after she moved to Australia from South Africa, where she had completed her Business Degree. Drawn to the values of meaningful service delivery, she took on the role of Receptionist at Regis Lutwyche.
In this role, she became the first point of contact for residents, families, employees, and visitors—a responsibility she carried with warmth and professionalism.
She quickly progressed to Office Manager in May 2020, managing administrative duties and supporting colleagues. In February 2023, she transitioned to Resident Agreement Coordinator, broadening her knowledge of aged care legislation. Now, as an Admissions and Data Specialist, she enhances the resident experience from the very start of their journey.
Before stepping into her national role within Support Services, Janneke made a significant impact at the Home level. Her ability to manage administrative operations efficiently and her keen eye for process improvements helped streamline services at Regis Lutwyche, creating a more positive experience for residents, families, and employees alike. Her dedication and drive did not go unnoticed, paving the way for her transition into a role that now influences multiple Homes across Regis.
Janneke credits much of her career progression to the mentorship she has received at Regis. “The mentorship structure has been phenomenal. I’ve been able to tap into the expertise of a highly skilled and knowledgeable team who share their insights with passion and patience.” This support has been instrumental in her growth, helping her build confidence and expand her skills.
“Aged care provides the opportunity to make a meaningful difference,” Janneke shares.
She values being a key contact for Admissions Coordinators, ensuring a smooth process for residents and families.
Janneke finds motivation in seeing the impact of her work. “Being responsive and efficient improves the admissions process, making a positive difference for residents and families.”
Her advice to those in aged care: “Never take the ‘heart’ out of your role. Go above and beyond to make a difference—your role always impacts the resident experience.”
Janneke’s journey reflects how Regis supports employees to grow, feel motivated and make a real impact.
