Meet Stephanie from Regis Birkdale. Stephanie has been with Regis since 2014 where she began in roles such as Assistant in Nursing and Duty Manager, with her current role now being Club Services Manager.
For Stephanie, working in aged care is what she’s always wanted. Sharing an endearing story of how first decided to pursue a career in the industry, Stephanie says, “I love elderly people. When I was young, my best friend was an elderly neighbour who I used to take flowers and she would give me boiled lollies in return. Her name was Shirley.”
Although every day is different in aged care, Stephanie’s usual duties include tours, calls, conversations, admissions, as well as “laughs and cries.”
“Regis has really great practices. Our team is like a family, and I love talking to and helping people”, says Stephanie, speaking about what she likes most about Regis and her role.
When asked what advice she would give to anyone considering a career in aged care, Stephanie says, “Do it! You won’t regret it! Working with the elderly is rewarding. You learn so much, and they have great life experiences.”
Outside of work, Stephanie loves outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and fossicking.
