Minh is a dedicated Relationship Specialist at Regis, whose journey into aged care is both personal and profound.

A Cultural Connection to the Elderly

Born and raised in Vietnam, Minh moved to Australia at the age of 25. Growing up, she was surrounded by the wisdom and care of her grandparents and the close bond with the older generation instilled in her a lifelong respect and affection for the elderly.

Minh’s transition into aged care began when she was actively involved in finding a suitable care home for her late grandma-in-law. The process opened her eyes to the challenges families face during such transitions. It was then that she realised her potential to make a significant impact in this field.

“I knew I had the experience and skillset to be able to make a difference,” Minh reflects. “I am very honoured and grateful to be a part of the aged care sector.”

Empathy and Compassion in Action

Minh’s approach to her role as a Relationship Specialist is grounded in empathy and compassion. She believes in understanding the unique circumstances and preferences of each family she works with. Minh’s commitment to building strong relationships is evident in the way she consistently communicates with families, providing emotional support and reassurance.

“I ensure that family members have easy access to information and resources related to their loved ones’ care,” Minh explains.

The Rewards of Working in Aged Care

For Minh, working with older people is more than just a job; it’s a source of personal growth and fulfilment. She cherishes the opportunity to form bonds with residents, learning from their diverse life stories, wisdom and humour.

“One of the greatest benefits of working with the elderly is the unique opportunity to build relationships that help drive me to be more compassionate than I thought possible,” Minh shares.
