This week, 94 residents from 17 of our Victorian Homes came together for a memorable day out on the iconic Puffing Billy steam train.
For those familiar with Puffing Billy, the journey was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, while newcomers enjoyed the adventure of a lifetime, creating lasting memories.
Our residents boarded the train for a peaceful ride through the hills, over timber trestle bridges and into the forest, following the original mountain track between Belgrave and Lakeside.
Resident Joan reflected, “I got married in this area, and this is only my second time back. It’s brought back so many memories. The last time I rode Puffing Billy was before I got married.”
After the first leg of the journey, residents and employees dined at the Lakeside Visitor Centre, savouring scones with jam and cream.
Resident Eileen added, “We all had a beautiful day. Lovely company and delicious food—what more could you want?”
