When we asked our Western Australian residents how they’d like to kick off the first inter-Home event of 2025, their response was clear – bring back the music, the memories and the moves. Inspired by the success of Twirling Down Memory Lane, our residents requested a rock and roll-themed dance – and what a spectacular celebration it turned out to be.
Our Lifestyle teams brought the vision to life, transforming the occasion into a celebration of music, memories and connection. Leading the charge was Rebound, a live band specialising in 1950s rock and roll, whose infectious rhythms had residents up on their feet in no time.
“An absolutely divine experience – the whole idea of a Rock and Roll party is pure perfection. Nothing could top this!” shared Sheila from our Port Coogee Home. That spirit of pure joy echoed throughout the event, as dance floors came alive with laughter, movement and shared moments across Homes.
Food also took centre stage, with residents playing an active role in curating the menu. Our talented chefs collaborated with residents to create a nostalgic, flavourful spread – a reflection of our commitment to personalised care and respecting each individual’s story.
“The outing was very enjoyable – the food was great. I loved the salmon mousse and I really enjoyed the music and dancing,” said Jill from Regis Woodlands.
For Kathleen from Bunbury, the event stirred a cherished memory. “It reminded me of how I met my husband Frank, the love of my life. From start to finish I felt special – the food was good and the music was great.”
Moments like these are about creating spaces where residents can reconnect with fond memories, form new ones, and feel celebrated at every stage of life.
As we look ahead to the year to come, we’re excited to keep delivering resident-led experiences that honour the unique stories, voices and vitality of our communities.
