Residents at Regis Sandgate Musgrave recently took a trip to The Bribie Island Butterfly House for an afternoon amongst the wonders of nature.

The group of residents were first awed by a window view of larvae and its different stages as it evolves into a butterfly.

The sanctuary was also filled with thousands of distinct species of butterflies and insects which filled the residents with joy and excitement.

Volunteers were on hand to assist residents in identifying species of butterflies and pointed out stick insects.

“I haven’t seen a stick insect as big as this and the place was filled with beautiful butterflies,” said resident Gloria.

Resident Vetia said, “other than the beautiful butterflies and plants, I also liked the quotes and sayings posted by everyone throughout the sanctuary. It was a delightful afternoon trip.”

At Regis, we take the time to get to know our residents and tailor our activities to ensure each resident is engaged in ways that truly matter to them.
