At Regis, we love spotlighting the people who make up the fabric of our community. Our employees across all areas of the company work diligently to ensure the health and wellbeing of our residents.
One such employee is Shiho Tanaka, a Personal Care Assistant at Regis Rosebud. Shiho joined Regis in 2011 and was an instant natural fit for the aged care industry.
“I was attracted to work in aged care because I enjoy caring for others. I have previous nursing experience, so it felt almost natural to work in this sector.”
For Shiho, no two days on the job are the same. However, whether it’s training new employees or assisting with medication, the one constant is her dedication to providing the best care possible for our residents.
“I enjoy working with the elderly because I feel like regardless of your role and experience, there is much more to learn from them.”
Drawing on her years of experience and the wide range of skills she has developed, Shiho “enjoys being able to provide the best care that I can.”
Reflecting on the supportive and hard-working team who work alongside her, Shiho says, “it is wonderful working with so much diversity. You can learn a lot by working with others of different cultures.”
When not at work, Shiho loves going to the shops for some retail therapy, building up a sweat at the gym, and relaxing in a spa bath.
To Shiho, home “is family, feeling comfortable and secure along with a place to rest and recharge.” Shiho applies this mantra to every encounter she has with our residents to ensure they are comfortable and at ease.
